sommeils brings together pieces created during Ismaïl Bahri's year-long residency. For a year, the artist shared his research with the public at Espace Khiasma. It’s this space once again that he invests in and transforms to create a true perceptual experience. The videos, utilizing the same filming approach, exist on a threshold of visibility, exploring the limits of perception. An invisible current of air flows through the exhibition, connecting the works and influencing the various modes of appearance and disappearance of the images.

In contrast to this mischievous wind, holes, cracks, and breaches are scattered about. These openings allow pulsating lights to infiltrate, briefly revealing bodies and landscapes without settling. 

Alongside the exhibition, "Writing on the Currents of Air" will be released—a working journal documenting the ongoing written exchange between Ismaïl Bahri and Olivier Marboeuf, director of Khiasma. An artist-led invitation program will punctuate the exhibition period with regular events, feeding into an online sound program on the R22 Tout-Monde web radio.
