In the present context, questioning the kind of knowledge that images are capable of generating is no easy task. We are living at a time marked by the unbridled circulation of visual content that does nothing but reinforce increasingly more standardized versions of life. This is true to the extent that we now equate “images” with whatever happens to appear on screens both private and commercial, thereby disarming any possible critical potential. But images are much more than their simple visual condition. They refuse to be reduced to the logic of throwaway consumption or univocal representation
