Les lignes du geste

Gesture is being released and emancipated; lines free themselves from the paper and from the wall, and spread across space. Artists create before our eyes, playing with the duration and repetition of the same gesture, calibrating space and spinning the yarn of time, to the point of exhaustion. Stretched, drawn, or woven, metaphorical or physical imprints or traces, the works emerge, palpitate, and disappear… Imagined by the FRAC Lorraine and the Centre Pompidou-Metz, these “Gesture lines” give us a way of seeing and experiencing the effervescence of local and visiting young creators. Fragile and ephemeral, the works appear and disappear in a temporality that is their own. They are visible now, in the heat of the action, in intimate proximity with the public.
